Labels aren't just for "getting your ego stroked", they also denote quality. When you see an AXXO, NOIR, MAXSPEED upload, they denote quality and reputation. When someone retags one of their rips, they make it seem like they're quality ups only for them to disappoint later.
Stop seeing the world as how it should be and see it for what it is. In all the evils that exist in the world, some movie ripper asking for recognition is no big deal. Keep things in perspective.
Buddy, I am not a ripper. I am a novice uploader. I've never uploaded movies, tv shows. Yes, the rippers didn't make the film but when you watch a film, pirated or not, they have credits at the end. Regardless of the extent of piracy, good films average several hundred millions at the box office (not including amazon, dvd, bluray sales) and in some cases, $1 billion plus so the people involved in the film making process are doing quite well both financially and also gaining recognition.
It is egotistical to some extent that rippers believe they deserve credit but it's also naivete on your part to believe all humans are 100% altruistic.
You still don't get the point of it, THE PIRATE ripped the film , uploaded it and did much more at his own time and expense so that you can sit on your backside, go to KAT and download movies for free and giving him/ her deserving credit is too much to ask for? And I never criticized duplicate torrents, I said some acknowledgement is necessary.
I never meant to offend anyone. Read my comment with an open mind. I don't have an angle nor have anything against one single user on KAT. i appreciate all the mods, super users, uploaders.
You make great points and yes I hear you loud and clear that people who retag have no right to complain about others retagging but you should understand that many serious encoders/rippers work very hard. Least we can give them some credit and yes, I do think that it's unfair that someone else retags their work because while the uploaders/ rippers ARE PIRATES, we can't deny that we enjoy the fruits of their labor. It is very simple really.
And no one is accusing you of stealing, they just get piss3d at you for taking credit. The last I checked, the MPAA/RIAA want our money. The uploaders/rippers just want recognition. Two different things.
I like you and your utopian idealism so please do not take my comment personally. I was merely offering a viewpoint.
My upload speed is only 1/3rd that of my download speed. I typically download 10 GB a week and upload about 4 GB.
I don't download just for the sake of downloading. I mostly download tv shows, mags, books with the occasional movie. I am picky that way.
