Thank you for your efforts. Very much appreciated
AVI is the most widely supported format in both new and older systems. Not all of us have the luxury of top end systems, so try and be considerate of others. Many MP4 users and people that rip shows are elitist and look down upon us AVI users as lower lifeforms, which is sad. AVI and DOCTOR WHO RULE !!!
VLC Player is available for all systems, new or old, high or low end. Plus most newer TVs, game consoles, and all Apple devices will play .mp4. The compression is superior to .avi, allowing for improved video with a smaller file size. It's not elitist, it's inevitable evolution.
But their are still uses for AVI. My original xbox running XBMC cannot handle mp4/h264, for example.
