The last ufc event in Croatia- Did you guys have seen how easyeli Derrick Lewis beat Gonzaga punch in the first round (Lewis promised that he will knock him out in the first round.)
This young BIG guy has amazing power !thumb_up shocked

He certainly made quick work out of Gonzaga. Unfortunately i'd picked Gonzaga to win that fight as I was gunning for the wily veteran to pull off an upset.. no

He definitely has an upside. His game needs to be more rounded though. And he's not exactly "young", he's like 31, so he needs to find his stride soon.
.
If I remember he got KO'd by Mittrione in like under a minute. But that may have been a while ago, so hopefully he isn't that same fighter.
.
All that being said, he really did do a number on Gonzaga. (@Darth I checked and I actually picked Lewis. So neener, neener, neener. lol. tonguetitter)
My mum used to cut chicken, chop eggs and spread butter on bread on the same cutting board with the same knife and no bleach, but we didn't seem to get food poisoning.
Our school sandwiches were wrapped in wax paper in a brown paper bag, not in ice pack coolers, but I can't remember getting e. Coli Almost all of us would have rather gone swimming in the lake or at the beach instead of a pristine pool (talk about boring), no beach closures then.
We all took PE ..... And risked permanent injury with a pair of Dunlop sandshoes instead of having cross-training athletic shoes with air cushion soles and built in light reflectors that cost as much as a small car. I can't recall any injuries but they must have happened because they tell us how much safer we are now.
We got the cane for doing something wrong at school, they used to call it discipline yet we all grew up to accept the rules and to honour & respect those older than us. We had 50 kids in our class and we all learned to read and write, do maths and spell almost all the words needed to write a grammatically correct letter......., FUNNY THAT!!
We all said prayers in school irrespective of our religion, sang the national anthem and no one got upset.
Staying in detention after school caught all sorts of negative attention we wish we hadn’t got.
I thought that I was supposed to accomplish something before I was allowed to be proud of myself. I just can't recall how bored we were without computers, Play Station, Nintendo, X-box or 270 digital TV cable stations. We weren't!!
Oh yeah ... And where was the antibiotics and sterilisation kit when I got that bee sting? Could I have been killed!
We played “King of the Hill” on piles of gravel left on vacant building sites and when we got hurt, mum pulled out the 2/6p bottle of iodine and then we got our backside spanked. Now it's a trip to the emergency room, followed by a 10 day dose of antibiotics and then mum calls the lawyer to sue the contractor for leaving a horribly vicious pile of gravel where it was such a threat.
To top it off, not a single person I knew had ever been told that they were from a dysfunctional family. How could we possibly have known that?
We never needed to get into group therapy and/or anger management classes. We were obviously so duped by so many societal ills, that we didn't even notice that the entire country wasn't taking Prozac!
How the f**k did we ever survive?.

My favourite post yet! :)

I don't want to beat a dead horse (but I am going to anyhowtonguetitter), and I understand that Penguinpirate36.03K and AndoCommando17.11K 's life experiences are different than mine but I have to disagree wholeheartedly with some of their comments about Mighty Mouse.
.
I have seen very small guys knock big guys clean out, a friend of mine was tiny, tallest he ever got was about 5'4" and I seen him KO a 6'1" guy.

Although I did reference MM's fight as midgets, I didn't really mean to emphasize height as a distinct advantage. I am only 5'8" and back in my fighting days I beat guys who were taller than me. It CAN be an advantage, but I think weight is more of a factor.
Yeah it was a surprise attack, he put his foot on a wall and leap at the guy like a superman punch but I'm sue it would have dropped 99% of people 6'.

Surprise attacks don't count. I had my 8 year old cousin crack my head on the floor because he thought it would be funny to jump out from behind a door on my back. Does that make him a skilled fighter?
It wouldn't be the only time I seen it another guy I know ran at a bigger guy and flattened him with an over hand right that looked like he was pretending to be a windmill.

To quote Wesley Snipes from one of the greatest movies ever, "White Men Can't Jump", "the sun even shines on a dog's azz some days"lol. If you've ever had younger brothers or cousins and you rough house with them, every once in a while they are going to get in a shot, accidentally on purposetitter that will cause a bloody nose, chipped tooth or a stunned moment. That doesn't make them a great or even good fighter.
I'd bet real actual money that Johnson could do it to anyone reading this thread.

I can't speak for everyone reading and commenting on this thread, but for myself, I would take that bet.
He knows how to swing a punch the right way so it would generate the most power, thats going to be like being hit with a 125lbs hammer and he could probably roll with the best punch an average Joe could throw.

Having been hit by guys WAY bigger than MM, flush on the jaw, temple, gut, knees and everything in between I can say with almost absolute certainty that unless he gets lucky, he isn't going to do any damage to a person of my size.
.
I will grant you that the fights I have been in are with people who aren't as "skilled" as MM, but even if they can't generate the full power of their weight behind their punches, at 160+ lbs, they are still hitting as hard or harder than MM coming at you full tilt.
.
Also I get that not every man is a "fighter type" or "athletic" or just big, or meant to take a punch, but if you are, even in a half comatose state and can't take one punch from a 125lbs guy, then you need to up your milk intake, start eating some more red meat, or just resign yourself to being the next level fighter UNDER Glass Joe in Mike Tyson's Punch Out. tonguetitter
.
And despite my dislike for the weight class, I do recognize the skill he has. Just, as I have said, I recognize that High School basketball players have skills.
.
And I have no doubt that in an Octagon fight, he would win. Not that he would KO me, but he would Machida me to death, because there would be NO WAY I could catch him. If I did, I would just Emmanuel Yarborough him. titter
.
Speaking of which, Yarborough is an example of the scale tilting too much the other way. He SHOULD have been the type of guy who could take some punishment, but he didn't have a chin and no heart.....and no cardio.
.
He got beat by a lot of smaller guys so I guess if you wanted to use him as an example, I can't argue, but he wasn't really what I had in mind when I say "bigger".titter
.
Also I went back to UFC 1, because I know Tuli the Sumo got beat by a smaller guy, but I couldn't remember who, but when I looked it up, it turns out the "smaller" guy was 216lbs.shocked lol.
Alright - I'm going to take a few days and vote up for some Heirlooms, but my Shaman WILL be joining you. Trying to learn how the heck to play again will be interesting lol

At x20 XP it isn't going to take you long to level. Re-learning how to play on the other hand...lol.
.
It shouldn't be bad, to be frank. As usual, it will be mostly Raid Mechanics when we are with our guildies. Will be good to have you in the guild! :)

My in game name is Subcelestial.

I should have qualified "public" Piety..? This seems to be the case.

That's going to be a close contest between all athletes. I would say Brazilian only because it seems that US athletes find religion AFTER they have done something wrong and they are on a "comeback" trail.

I understand the difference between combative sport and actual fighting, so I understand where you're coming from... but you cannot deny the skill from a sporting perspective.

I think this is one of those things we are going to disagree on, and I think it's more coming from what either of consider to be entertaining.

by some slob

That would probably be me.
.
But here's why, I can appreciate the "skill" at 125, or women's MMA, but to me that's like saying a high school basketball team is "skilled". Sure I can appreciate it, but do I necessarily find that "entertaining" or worth my time to watch? For me, the answer is no
.
For the record I'm 5'8" 280lbs and although I haven't always been this big, I have been in my share of fights, and I can say that whatever "skill" a 125lbs person may have, unless they kick me in the balls, throat, eye gouge etc, there is no way they are going to do any serious damage to me.
.
I guess I don't feel I should have to reign rein (EDIT:I should refrain from spelling early in the morning.facepalm) in my sense of disbelief to enjoy an MMA contest. lol

Halfway through 197... the word TOUGH! comes to mind to describe some of these guys... Some big shots been eaten like Hot Breakfasts shockeddrunk

As for who is more pious. I think the US Fighters give more lip service, whereas the Brazilian fighters have their religion more running through their lives every day.
.
Why is every fight now for an interim belt?

My thoughts are two fold on this. 1) I think it depends on the person. If Mighty Mouse had to pull out from a fight. I don't think they interim him....basically because no one cares.
.
2)I guess the thought of eventually "reunifying" the title is more impactful and thus more profitable.
.
The sad thing about it, is now you are getting people who don't deserve to be called champ, as "champions" even if only in the interim.(smh)

I'm content with a Participation award! lol

Well of course you are content. You are leading the overall scoring so far. tonguelol
.
(I just totally put the bulls eye on your back. titter)
.

The more I play, the worse i'm getting sad

You don't remember last year? There was one player, for anonymity's sake, lets call him "westlondondon", who absolutely sucked at the beginning of the pick 'em. I mean he was just awful. I really felt bad for the guy and I thought he would drop out....he was that bad. ( I am just joking around with you, "westlondondon".titter)
.
But then he started to pick things up, and I honestly believe that if the season last year ran longer he would have been at the top or near. He just got hot!
.
And we aren't even halfway through our year yet. It's still anyone's game, even someone NEW who started right now!
.
But we should still be trash talking AndoCommando17.11K tonguetitter.
Hey guys!

I just created my character, an alliance elf hunter by the name of "Tenrec". Look me up! I would really like to level up together, my little experience with WoW in the past was mostly playing by myself.

By the way, for those having trouble with the game not saving any settings nor the terms and conditions, I found a workaround:

1- Go to the game's folder. Inside there's a folder called "WTF". Open it. Delete the file "config.wtf". Just in case, backup it up first.

2- Now launch the game. Once you are in the main screen, quit the game.

3- Go back to the "WTF" folder, inside there will be a new "config.wtf" file. Edit it with notepad or any other text editor, and add the following line:

SET realmlist "logon.heroes-wow.com"

4- Save the file and close it.

5- Now launch the game normally, this will be the last time you need to accept the conditions, and all settings you modify will also be stored.

I sincerely thank you for sharing this information! It worked and I appreciate it!!!
