This is a really simple and useful method for remembering things. For example, you want to remember a list of ten items. I don't consider myself to be that strong at visualizing, but I was able to learn and apply this one instantly.
First, imagine a house that you know well enough that you can walk through each room in your mind's eye. Start at one room in your house and see the first item on your list in that room. See it exaggerated in a way that makes it really abnormal by using things like size, color, sound, smell... the more senses the better.
Example: if the first item on your list is a fish and you are starting in the bedroom, see a giant, yellow fish flopping around on the bed.
Now continue to the next room in the house. Maybe it's the master bathroom and the item is butter.
See the toilet filled with butter, overflowing and sliding down the side of the bowl.
Repeat the process for each room in the house. When your list is done, go back to the first room and see the item you left there. Continue the same course through the house and note each item that you had created.
You should be able to easily remember each item this way. Not only that, but you can start at any room in the house and go forward or backward to list every item on the list.
