Since the first attack there have been more and more popping up, Florida, New Orleans and even China here is what the media is saying:
Yet another horrifying face-eating zombie attack has occurred on this planet, therefore solidifying all prior assumptions that A.) zombie apocalypse is happening right now; or B.) that humanity is merely acting particularly terrible nowadays. On June 26th in the Chinese city of Wenzhou, a local bus driver allegedly tippled a little too hard, which drove him to bite off a woman's face in the middle of traffic. Web Pro News has the specifics:
[A] bus driver reportedly stopped his bus in traffic, blocking a woman's car. He then got off the bus, climbed up on the hood of the woman's car, and began beating at her windshield. When she got out of the car in a panic, he jumped on her and began chewing her face. Allegedly, several people tried to pull the man off, to no avail.
The victim will have to undergo plastic surgery to repair her nose and mouth.
Three frantic 911 calls reporting a brutal face-eating attack are shedding new light on the painful scene passersby witnessed.
"He's beating another man. It's a naked man beating another man," one caller said. "He is going to kill that man. I promise you."
The grisly assault on a homeless man whose face was eaten by a deranged assailant lasted for 18 agonizing minutes and was captured on nearby surveillance cameras. The 911 calls were releaed by police late Friday.
"He is beating another man to a pulp," one caller said.
Another told police they would have no trouble finding the location.
"Can't miss him, he's naked!" the caller said.
Rudy Eugene, who authorities suspect may have been high on a dangerous new street drug known as "bath salts," had to be shot four times by a police officer to halt the cannibalistic attack.
The victim, Ronald Poppo, 65, is in critical condition after police say 75 percent of his face was devoured by Eugene.
Footage taken by security cameras at the nearby Miami Herald building shows most of the 18 gory minutes of Eugene's growling and vicious attack on Poppo, when Eugene ate the man's nose, mouth and eyes.
A second cannibalistic attack occured later this week:
A 21-year-old man accused of killing a housemate told police in Harford County, Md., that he ate the victim's heart and part of his brain after killing him.
Alexander Kinyua first became a suspect when his brother found what he thought were human remains in the basement of the family's Joppatowne home. When the brother confronted Kinyua, he told him they were animal remains, according to ABC 2 News in Baltimore. The brother told the father about the grisly find, but when the father searched the basement the remains were gone.
Kinyua has been charged with first-degree murder and was ordered held on no bail, according to The Associated Press.
PALMETTO, Fla. -
The latest in a string of “zombie” like attacks happened in a Manatee County home Wednesday night after a man under the influence went into a fit of rage and bit a piece of someone’s arm off during a visit with his children.
Much like the Miami face-eating attack, 26-year-old Charles Baker got naked, ate human flesh and wouldn’t go down without a fight, according to a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office report.
Authorities say Baker went to his girlfriend’s home on 25th St in Palmetto to visit his kids at 10:15 p.m. They say he was high on an unknown substance when he knocked on the door, then barged in, began yelling and taking off his clothes.
He was screaming and wouldn’t calm down, then began throwing furniture around the home. Jeffery Blake, who lives in the home, attempted to restrain Baker, but the suspect bit him, taking a chunk of his flesh from his bicep. Blake, 48, was able to get Baker to the ground and kept him there until two deputies arrived.
When law enforcement came inside, Blake released Baker. Baker got up, but would not respond to deputies orders. The suspect instead faced the deputies, tensing his body, clenching his fists and screaming.
Baker, still naked, acted like he was going to rush the deputies, according to the report. Deputy Wildt deployed his an electronic control device after giving a verbal warning.
Baker fell to the ground, and then tried to get back up, so Deputy Wildt deployed the device again. Baker pulled the probes out, so deputy Blake deployed his electric shock device.
Those probes were also pulled out, and Deputy Wildt deployed a second cartridge. By this time, several other deputies had arrived on scene and were able to hold him down and handcuff him.
Baker was taken to Manatee Memorial Hospital for evaluation before being transported to the jail.
The 35-year-old went into cardiac arrest after a run in with state troopers outside her apartment in Munnsville on Tuesday. The police were called to the scene at 7.45pm with reports that McCarthy was punching and choking her toddler and trying to strangle her pit-bull. A neighbor then photographed her running towards her terrified son, who sought refuge with his father, Jason Williams.
McCarthy’s attack is just one in a spate of violent incidents reported across the United States involving the drugs “bath salts”, a synthetic drug, known as “the new LSD”.
Last month, Rudy Eugene, who was believed to be on “bath salts” chewed off homeless man, Ronald Poppo’s face, in Miami. In Louisiana, Carl Jacquneaux also bit off a piece of his neighbor’s cheek.
In fact these attacks, thought to be the blame of this legal drug, are becoming so prevalent that the media is now labeling them under the term “Zombie Apocalypse”.
A neighbor who witnessed McCarthy’s attack told NewsChannel 9 WSYR “She was... just running back and forth around the street and she got a hold of one of her dogs and she was rolling around on the ground with her legs wrapped around it - she was strangling the dog.”
Another said: 'She was definitely on something. Who does that?'
When the police arrived McCarthy was described as “violently combative” and growled at the police, and even tried to bite one of the officers.
State trooper Christopher Budlong tried to subdue her using pepper spray, but it had no effect. He then used a taser on the woman but was unable to handcuff her. She was then taken into custody and later went into cardiac arrest.
Her boyfriend Williams said she had a history of drug abuse but he was shocked by her behavior. Their son luckily escaped the attack with minor injuries and is now in the custody of William’s mother.
He said, “I told her mom, "She needs help'," Williams told WSYR. 'Everyone says to get rid of her because I tell all mean stories. I got nothing good to say. I love her…love her to death…then I seen that.”
A Louisiana man is in custody after allegedly biting the face off of another man. This latest "zombie" crime is at least the fourth reported cannibalistic incident since a Florida man stripped naked and chewed 80% of the face off a homeless victim.
Law Enforcement officials in Scott, Lousiana, confirmed that Car Jacquneaux, 43, attacked an unnamed victim and, using his teeth, tore parts of the man’s face off.
“During the attack, the suspect bit a chunk of the victim’s face,” said assistant police chief Kert Thomas. “He was clearly under the influence of some kind of drug.”
Is it something in the water? Earlier today, there was the story about Miami police shooting a naked man who was biting off another man’s face. Now, there’s the doctor who was pulled over for drunk driving and deliberately smashed his face bloody, then spit blood into a state trooper’s eyes.
The incident began when anesthesiologist Zachard Bird was pulled over at about 1:30 AM for speeding and almost hitting a Florida Highway Patrol car. According to the Sun-Sentinel, “Bird had alcohol on his breath, his eyes were glassy and bloodshot and he was unsteady on his feet, a trooper wrote. He refused to provide a blood sample.” Bird was arrested after failing a sobriety test and found to have $40,000 in his pockets and another $14,000 and two guns in his car.
At that point, Bird apparently went beserk. He accused the state troopers of stealing his money and repeatedly banged his head against a partition in the police car until blood ran down his face, while yelling, “Hey! Blood, blood, blood, blood all over! Take me to the hospital!”
He then kicked open the back door of the car, got out. and spit blood into the face and eyes of one trooper.
“We expect that from some people we arrest,” a Highway Patrol spokesperson told ABC News, “but a doctor knows how serious it is to contaminate someone with bodily fluid. That’s the most unnerving part.”
Other attacks :
'Zombie attacks' spread through the Deep South
Has there ever been a more nightmarish time to be a cop in the South? On the heels of the infamous "Miami Zombie" attack, another Miami man (who apparently washed his bath salts down with Four Loko) tried to bite arresting officers, snapping his teeth and growling and slamming his head repeatedly into the Plexiglas divider of the patrol car while allegedly yelling "I'm going to eat you!" And it's not just the Florida PD who should be updating their resumes: Officers had to track down a suspect who had bitten a "chunk" out of someone's face in Louisiana while "under the influence of some kind of drug." We suggest an immediate bonus for every officer who doesn't hand in their two week notice in any state south of Tennessee.
The Scary parts:
CDC reassures the public that zombies don't exist
People eating people seems to be happening a lot of late, and other people are unnerved. In the past, the Centers for Disease Control has winkingly published zombie survival guides. But the recent spate of snacking on our fellow man has caused some to half-jokingly wonder if a zombie apocalypse is about to descend upon us. Fear not, for the CDC announced today that there is no known zombie virus. "CDC does not know of a virus or condition that would reanimate the dead (or one that would present zombie-like symptoms)," CDC spokesman David Daigle said. Guess it's safe to leave our bunker now.
Drills of the dead: Maine prepares for zombie attack
Emergency officials in Maine have taken part in a training exercise in preparation for a zombie apocalypse. This comes just weeks after the federal government publicly denied the existence of zombies.
Around 100 emergency responders from eight different counties participated in the event in the quiet city of Bangor.
The premise: an unknown virus originating from Jamaica has reached Maine, turning the infected into zombies. Once infected, the virus quickly spreads to the brain, and turns the host into a full-fledged zombie, who has only one thing on its mind: biting other people.
The officials were armed with two would-be vaccines – one to prevent the infection from reaching the brain, and one to bring the zombies back to life.
“We have identified in several states, particularly Texas, New York, Illinois outbreaks of these civil disturbances and biting,” one official said. “And in conjunction with that there are also widespread power outages.”
The event may have been a staged act, with locals playing zombies, but it gave emergency responders an opportunity to prepare for a real life epidemic.
“This gives us the opportunity to do something a little bit different, but it still has the same principles that would apply in a real situation,” Kathy Knight, director of the Northeastern Maine Regional Resource Center told the Bangor Daily News. Emergency workers "need to figure out what they need, how they’re going to respond and how they are going to share their resources to respond to the disaster. They need to know who to go to outside their community to find the resources they don’t have, so it’s a different twist.”
The training exercise comes just several weeks after the US Center for Disease Control publicly denied the existence of zombies.
Rumors of a “zombie apocalypse” have been on the rise after a series of disturbing incidents.
In Florida, police caught a naked man chewing on the face of another person. They eventually shot him dead after unsuccessfully trying to push him away from the victim.
In Maryland, an engineering student allegedly stabbed a man to death and ate his heart and brain.
In Canada, a porn actor was detained on charges that he had killed and dismembered his lover. He is alleged to have recorded a video of himself copulating with some of the body parts, and consuming others. He is also suspected of sending the limbs of the victim to the headquarters of political parties, as well as two schools in Vancouver.
If you look about the web you will get hints of a military contingency plan being made. This is big guys and gals if the CDC issues a statement on a matter than you know something is up. Think to yourself if there was a big outbreak would the CDC come on the news saying "there has been a big outbreak"? No. They would want to stop mass panic. So with over 10 incidents of zombie attacks and one over seas are we under the beginning of a zombie outbreak? The police seem to think so....
